Pastor's Vision Letter 2023 - 2024

Dear Shorter Community AME Church Family,

Grace and peace to you all in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

As we gather in the presence of God, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and hope. Our journey together as a church family has been blessed with countless moments of faith, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Today, I write to share with you my vision for the 2023-2024 conference year, a vision that encompasses our shared mission, the prosperity of our church, and my personal aspirations within the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

First and foremost, I want to emphasize our commitment to inclusivity and the warm embrace of new members. It is our duty to extend the love and hospitality of Christ to all who seek solace within our church's walls. In the coming years, I envision Shorter Community AME Church as a church filled with hope for those seeking spiritual enlightenment and a welcoming community. Let us continue to be a place where everyone feels valued, accepted, and encouraged in their faith journey.

Shorter Community AME Church's growth is not just a numerical ambition, but a spiritual one. I envision a church where our faith deepens, our ministries flourish, and our impact on the community multiplies. Together, we will strive for spiritual growth, equip ourselves with knowledge, and nurture our talents to better serve God and each other. Let us remember that our church's vitality is not measured solely by the size of our congregation but by the depth of our commitment to Christ.

In the spirit of transparency, I wish to reemphasize a personal aspiration with you all. It has long been my desire to be elected as a bishop in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. This journey is not about personal ambition but about serving our denomination and the broader Christian community. It is my desire to share the principles of Kingdom living through social justice with the entire AME Family. I ask for your prayers, support, and guidance as I pursue this calling, knowing that it aligns with our church's historical commitment to leadership within the AME Church.

Lastly, I pledge to continue nurturing the spiritual growth of our congregation and to deepen our connection with God through prayer, worship, and service. Together, we will not only be a witness to the transformative power of faith, but we will also continue to be a source of inspiration to the greater Denver Community.

With heartfelt appreciation,

The Reverend Dr. Timothy E. Tyler, Pastor
